Emma wins “Oncology Aesthetics Student of the Year 2024”
Emma Duff of Headfort Spa Rooms was honoured with a major industry award last week.
Headfort Spa Rooms and Emma Duff were finalists in the Iguazu Beauty Awards held in Dublin. Surrounded by leading SPAs and Salons throughout the country, Emma was truly honoured when she was announced the winner of the award, ‘Oncology Aesthetics Student of the Year 2024’.
With a background in Nursing for over 20 years and having worked in the Oncology Department in Drogheda, and now Managing Headfort Spa Rooms for the last 3 years, it meant so much to Emma to receive this acknowledgement for her new passion and love, the aesthetics and beauty industry.
The award was presented to Emma by Louise O'Loughlin, from Repêchage Ireland and Oncology Aesthetics Ireland and UK, at a three-day event in the Castleknock Hotel in Dublin.
Over the course of the three days, business owners and managers such as Emma took part in advanced training in areas such as Oncology Aesthetics. Emma attended a workshop by the Founder, International Director and Educator of Oncology Training International, Morag Currin, who is a founding figure within the field of Oncology Aesthetics Internationally. Emma states, “It was a great honour to be within arms reach of Morag as she unveiled all her expertise and knowledge onto us.”
Emma also explains, “I am so thrilled to be able to offer these treatments to our clients. With my background, when I heard about Oncology Aesthetics it was very important to me that this would become a reality. That in Headfort Spa Rooms we would be able to say ‘Yes’ to everyone. I feel that those who are going through cancer or who have had cancer in the past deserve to enjoy and experience a Spa treatment and a luxurious one at that. Since last year we are now able to offer treatments with safe products to clients going through cancer or undergoing chemotherapy treatment.”
The three-day event also featured a business owners workshop with Salon Expert Liz McKeon. Day Two consisted of an exciting launch of Repêchage’s new product line, as well as many demonstrations and interactions with several guest speakers, before the event concluded with the award ceremony. On the third and final day of the event Emma completed a Masterclass in a brand new treatment from Repêchage Skincare soon to be launched and which Emma is excited to bring to Headfort Spa Rooms. While Emma had been shortlisted for the award along with 12 other salons and spas, winning the title outright is a huge honour for her.
