The Leinster Regional Restaurant Awards, sponsored by the Irish Times took place to a full house in Killashee House Hotel in Kildare on Tuesday evening
With thousands of nominations across the region, the Vanilla Pod Restaurant received two coveted awards for the delighted team who attended.
The first accolade of the night was in the category of ‘Best Hotel and Guesthouse Restaurant (Meath)’. This recognition was awarded for the Vanilla Pod offering a wonderful restaurant experience in a hotel environment
This has served down through the years as a huge attraction for guests coming to Kells, to stay at the family-run hotel, spend time discovering the region but also know that their time in Kells may be topped off with a great dining experience that focuses on
local and seasonal produce from the abundance of the Boyne Valley.
Food Experiences however are nothing without great service. Leading the winning team is Lareina Quigley who so richly deserved picking up the award for the second year in a row as ‘Best Restaurant Manager (Meath)’
Lareina has been at the helm of the Vanilla Pod for over a decade and this award recognises those years of dedication, commitment and hospitality that so many of the Vanilla Pod regular and returning guests enjoy on their visit to the Award Winning Restaurant.
The Vanilla Pod has stood the test of time, now open over 20 years, ever adapting to the new wave of Irish food trends, wonderful local and Irish produce and with great kitchen team performance.
It is also testament to long-standing Executive Head Chef Stephen Brown who is leading the kitchen team for as many years as Lareina. Between them, they have defied the trend of most kitchens and teams with so many
long-standing brilliant members that make the Headfort and the Vanilla Pod so special.
The Vanilla Pod will now go onto the National Finals in Dublin in the coming months.
