We hope you have been keeping safe and well during this unprecedented time. We know it’s been difficult for each and everyone on so many levels. The doors of the Headfort have been shut for the first time since our parents bought the hotel in 1972. We can’t wait to reopen them to you all to visit again and we really hope that this is now in sight.
We haven’t rested on our laurels! We have used this time wisely while we have been closed and working on a clear, comprehensive plan for all our team to work to so that you, our guest, can enjoy a safe, yet stress-free visit.
This time has made us re-imagine and innovate and we’ve created ‘Headfort at Home’ our new takeaway food & drink service which is going well and we foresee that for the moment this will remain an important part of our offering for locals as we bring the favourite dishes and drinks from the Headfort to your home, we can even deliver!
We’ve also taken advantage of the lovely weather since March and have got a great amount of painting done including the bedrooms, Café Therese, Kelltic Bar and Courtyard. There have been positives too, we’ve realised how lucky we are to have wonderful outdoor space in the Headfort Garden and we look forward to embracing this to its full potential on reopening.
We didn’t realise in building a garden kitchen two years ago with its own wood-fired pizza for weddings just how important it might be for us now going forward. We look forward to offering you an environment on reopening that is safe and pleasant but never compromising the Headfort welcome and heartfelt hospitality from June 29th.
For those travelling, we will be ready to reopen and welcome guests through our front door on 20th July, we cannot wait! We will have our jobs done to ensure all the additional health and safety measures are in place so that you can enjoy a well deserved, relaxing break. As ever, we look forward to working with our local partners in bringing together a great Boyne Valley Experience. We have wonderful packages with the 36 hole Headfort Golfing Complex, Ice Cream Trails with Causey Farm and beautiful Bog Walks on Girley Eco Bog or just step back 5,000 years of time and visit Loughcrew Cairns, all to be enjoyed in the fresh open air.
